DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire Rescue saved an 11-year-old boy from drowning in the Trinity River
Witnesses said they saw the boy walk out of the woods and into the Trinity River.
They said as he made his way across, he became trapped in mud and was unable to free himself.
Deputy Chief Albert Martinez said when he arrived on scene he saw two women in the water trying to save him but noticed they were struggling.
Martinez jumped into the water and dug his nails under the mud to keep them in one place as they awaited Fire Rescue.
Martinez said no one was injured and although the boy wasn’t visually shaken by the incident, he was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
