DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – After a month long investigation, police in Hurst, Texas arrest a 28-year old mother for putting her newborn in a dumpster.
Alyssa Hazel Baker now sits in the Tarrant County Jail on a charge of attempted capital murder. On June 15th police responded to a 911 call that an infant was abandoned in a dumpster on Melbourne Road, near Soup or Salads restaurant. Police rescued the child from the dumpster who was alert and crying and later reported to be in good condition.
The mother reportedly worked at the restaurant, and is believed to have had the baby on the floor in the bathroom, earlier that day. Baker was arrested about 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Her bond has been set at $50,000.
