WASHINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has met with several key republican senators including John Cornyn of Texas this week.
The Republican Majority Whip says he has known Kavanaugh for a long time and will support the nomination.
“We will likely be having Judiciary Committee hearings on the nomination in, I would say, mid-to-late August,” Cornyn said.
He expects a vote prior to the October term of the Supreme Court.
Cornyn says Kavanaugh shares the same judicial philosophy as Justice Neil Gorsuch who was also nominated by President Donald Trump.
