Southwest Airlines Is Getting Rid Of A Popular Perk

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) If you want to eat peanuts on a Southwest Airlines flight you’ll soon have to bring them yourself.

The airline announced it will stop serving the packaged snack on August 1st because some passengers have peanut allergies.

In a statement the airline said,  “Peanuts forever will be part of Southwest’s history and DNA.  However, to ensure the best on-board experience for everyone, especially for customers with peanut-related allergies, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue serving peanuts on all flights beginning Aug. 1.”

Southwest will continue to service complimentary pretzels on longer routes.
