DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Saturday is the two year anniversary of the Dallas Police Ambush that killed five Dallas Police officers and a Dart Officer. A special service at Dallas Police Headquarters on Lamar honored the officers killed Friday morning. Those who attended joined together in prayer and listened to Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall. There was a moment of silence and a balloon release.
“The brave men and women of the Dallas Police Department faced adversity and became the beacon of courage and public service to all law enforcement officers across this country and this nation,” Hall said at the ceremony.
On Saturday, Crossfit is hosting a memorial fundraiser at the Dallas Police Association on Griffin Street. The day starts with a Crossfit competition at 7:00am and includes live music, a silent auction and kids activities.
Proceeds will go to the Helping And Loving Our Survivors (Halos) Fund, a tax-exempt fund that provides financial services and support to the families of the Dallas Police Officers killed in the line of duty. For more information on the Crossfit event go to: www.thedallasfive.com.
