Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – 11 north Texas counties have declared disasters because of the threat of wildfires. That declaration gives the counties the right to entirely ban fireworks through July fifth, and they have done so. The counties already had burn bans in place, but burn bans do not specifically prohibit fireworks. A disaster declaration can. The counties include Wise, Parker, Tarrant, Hood, and Johnson, all on the west side of the metroplex.
