PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) — First responders are competing to see which department can encourage the most citizens to donate blood this week.
The competition is between the Plano and Fire departments and is called “Battle of the Badges.” This is the 14th straight year they have done the event, with the last seven won by the Police Department, according to the department’s website.

Those who donate will receive a free t-shirt and gift bag.
