For the first time invasive zebra mussels have been confirmed in Grapevine Lake.

Grapevine (WBAP/KLIF) – A juvenile zebra mussel was found attached to a water sampler in the southern end of the lake on June 22, and microscopic larvae were found in the lake in May. They’ve already been confirmed in five other north Texas lakes, including Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Lewisville, and Lake Ray Roberts. The experts describe zebra mussels as a real nuisance because they have no natural predators here, and there’s no way to get rid of them completely.
