Sewage Spill Not Expected to Reach White Rock Lake

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – It is now believed White Rock Lake in Dallas will not be affected by a sewage spill that flowed into White Rock Creek in Plano.

Denise Hickey with the North Texas Municipal Water District says tests show it is contained 10 miles north of the lake.

“Water quality and environmental assessment indicates that the spill is being contained within a one mile area of White Rock Creek to, basically, around Frankfort Road,” Hickey said Friday afternoon.

There is still cleanup necessary in the creek but it is anticipated, as of now, nothing will happen to the lake.
