FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF) – Some homes and businesses within the 75034 ZIP code will be converted to the new 75036 ZIP code.
The addresses affected by the change are largely in West Frisco. Addresses in the 75033 and 75035 ZIP code will not be affected. The area affected by the change is bordered by Cottonwood Branch and Main Street on the north; Teel Parkway on the east; Boyd Road, Lebanon Road, and Lewisville Lake on the south; and Lewisville Lake on the west.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, 9,604 residential and 383 business addresses will be affected by this change. Residents and businesses owners do not have to submit a change of address request.
“It really comes down to growth,” said Albert Ruiz with USPS.
Usage in the current ZIP Code, 75034, has grown and the ZIP Code is running out of +4’s. For example, in 75035-6789. Plus 4’s are needed to help sort, ship, and deliver the mail more efficiently.
The change takes effect July 1. The Postal Service will ensure delivery of mail with the old ZIP code for one year.
