Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – A jaw-dropping new distinction for the United States which ranks as the 10th most dangerous country in the world for women, according to a survey released Tuesday by the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Observers attribute the surprise ranking to the rampant sexual harassment and assault allegations brought to light by the #MeToo movement.
According to Reuters, the U.S. is the only Western democracy in the top 10, which also includes India, Afghanistan and Somalia.
India was ranked the most dangerous country for women.
The foundation surveyed 548 experts from around the world, online, by phone and in person.
