Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A GoFundMe page has so far raised over $5000 for an 80-year old Army veteran who was recently evicted from his Fort Worth home.
Billie McGruder had lived at the Marion Ave. residence near Highway 35 for decades.
McGruder was evicted by the new owner of the property after he fell behind on property taxes; but, after an outpouring of support for the aging vet, the owner is now working with McGruder’s family to allow him to return. The home was purchased by his parents in the 1930s
Last Friday, McGruder, along with his community watched as his family belongings were removed from the home and placed on the street.
According to WFAA-TV, the new owner says he can buy it back for $38-000.
The home is in dire need of repairs.
We told you about Bille McGruder on Friday.
