DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Dallas resident is asking the public to help catch a package thief who stole an item that typically marks a milestone in the lives of a young couple.
Austin Maddox said surveillance video captured a man stealing a newly-delivered crib off of his front porch on Tuesday.
“The crib was bought by my dad, who lives in Austin, and was delivered to our house, only to be stolen by porch pirates about an hour later,” he said.
The video shows a white van pull up to the home on Hartline Drive near Ferguson Road.
A white man wearing a green shirt, shorts and a dark blue and red baseball cap can be seen jumping out of the van, stealing the package and shoving it into the vehicle.
For Maddox, the theft couldn’t have come at a worse time.
“Our baby shower is this Saturday and our son is due in August,” he said.
Anyone that recognizes the suspect or has information about the theft is asked to call the Dallas Police Department.
