(DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF News) – Gas prices are on the rise nationwide, and Triple A warns prices will get worse as the near the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Statewide, it’s costing drivers an average $7.42 more to fill a tank than it was one year
Fort Worth drivers are paying an average $2.77 per gallon; it’s an average $2.78 in Dallas. Statewide, the average cost is $2.70, while El Paso drivers are paying the most, at $2.99 a gallon. The least expensive gas in Texas is found in Amarillo and San Antonio, at about $2.60 a gallon
Triple A’s Daniel Armbruster ties the gas price hikes to several issues, including a White House decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran, a switch to more costly summer fuel, growing global demand and shrinking supply.
