NRA Members Grateful for President Trump’s Attendance at Annual Convention

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – President Trump told a crowd of NRA members Friday, at the group’s annual convention, that their second amendment rights are safe with him as president. Gun enthusiasts were pleased to hear that.
Trump is addressed thousands of NRA members at a leadership forum and said  the nation was filled with shock and grief upon learning of the attack on Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in February. But, said banning guns is not the answer. He told the crowd that guns would not be under siege with him as President. Trump did not advocate for new gun control measures, such as increasing the age-limit for buying certain firearms. He reiterated his support for allowing well trained teachers to carry concealed weapons, and having highly trained security guards in schools. Trump said the strongest deterrent to would-be gun attackers is “the knowledge that their attack will end their life and end in total failure.” He says “when they know that, they’re not going in.”

NRA members at the convention were glad to have support from the President.

“It means he’s got out back,” said a long time NRA member. “And we have his back.”

Trump has spoken at the NRA convention for the last four years.
