Southwest said the plane had no other mechanical problems and has been taken out of service. The Dallas-based airline also made a point to say this did not qualify as an “emergency landing.”
The FAA said it’s investigating the incident.
The incident comes two weeks after a woman died on a Southwest Flight from New York to Dallas after she was partially sucked out of the plane when an engine exploded mid air.
Flight 1380 was forced to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia.
Captain Tammy Jo Schultz received praise nationwide for landing the plane safely under extraordinary circumstances.
