Collin County Residents Chime in on Possible Expansion of Busy Highway

COLLIN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF) – Residents in Collin County are getting a chance to chime in on the possible expansion of a busy highway.

Growth in Collin County is rapid and expected to stay that way for quite a while.

“Some people forecast Collin County to be bigger than Dallas County by 2040,” said Ryan LaFontaine with TxDOT. “So we have to take that into account.”

TxDOT is holding a series of public meetings to get input on ways to relieve traffic congestion on HWY 380 from Princeton to Prosper.

“We’ve committed to more public meetings that we would normally be required to for a project like this,” LaFontaine said.

Meetings this week will be held in Princeton and Prosper. Three more meetings will be scheduled for the fall. TxDOT says this is the beginning of a what could be a long term project.
