WATAUGA (WBAP/KLIF News) — Watauga city councilman Hal Gerhardt has passed away unexpectedly.
The 77-year-old councilman died over the weekend and had been serving on the city council since 2015.
In a release on the city’s website, Gerhardt is described as an Air Force veteran and someone who had an “upbeat personality and zest for life.”
“He will be greatly missed,” the city said in a statement.
Gerhardt had lived in Watauga since 1997. The city asked for the community to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers.
