Midlothian Police Say Missy Bevers’ Murder Investigation Still High Priority Two Years After Her Death

MIDLOTHIAN  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Midlothian Police continue to investigate the death of Missy Bevers.

It’s been two years since she was brutally murdered  at the Creekside Church of Christ on her way to an exercise class.

Bevers, a wife and mother of three, was killed just before dawn April 18th, 2016. She suffered puncture wounds to her head and chest.

Captain John Spann said a new investigator has recently been assigned to the case.

“We do continue to receive tips on the case and have investigators follow up on those tips as well,” he said.

The department has received over 1400 tips since the investigation started.

“This is a high priority for everybody. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about it. It’s still a priority for our department and we’re still in constant contact with the family,” he said.

Surveillance video from inside the church showed an unidentified individual wearing tactical gear and carrying a hammer just before Bevers was murdered.

Investigators also released video of a silver Nissan Altima in the church parking lot and a nearby business but have yet to name any suspects.

Authorities have cleared Bevers’ husband and friends.

The FBI is still assisting in the case.
