Cash, Coins Recovered in Theft of Collin County Home

MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF) – Two men were arrested Thursday in Dallas for their alleged involvement in the reported theft of over $1,00,000 in cash and coins from a rural Collin County home.

According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies recently met with a witness who provided them with information about the theft, including a possible location of the suspects. Sheriff’s investigators were able to confirm the location of the suspects and a search warrant was secured for a location in Dallas seeking evidence related to the theft. The Dallas Police Department’s Tactical Unit executed the search warrant and Collin County Sheriff’s Investigators recovered five firearms, 23 ounces of marijuana, gold bullion, and $491,100 in cash. After interviewing the men, Sheriff’s Investigators found a large number of gold and silver coins at a local exchange store.
19-year-old Anthony Sotelo and 18-year-old Fernando Lopez are charged with felony Theft and could face more charges.
