The Mayors Challenge – Plano Water Conservation

(WBAP/KLIF) The City of Plano is participating in the 7th Annual National Mayors Challenge presented by Wyland Foundation. Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere says this is great for the city: “Great things happen when a community comes together for a common cause and this is something that’s great for Plano and great for our environment. We’ve embrace the concept of conservation to spread that awareness.”

Water in the city of Plano has recently been under question by some community member but Plano released the results of an independent lab testing on the cities water that revealed everything was safe and up to code. LaRosiliere hopes that now, those concerns will be put to rest: “The safety of our citizens has always been a priority for Plano and it’s unfortunate that some folks got our citizens worried, however, it did give us the opportunity to show our transparency and let them know that we will continue to take actions that are in their best interest and we always have.”

Other North Texas cities are also taking the Mayors Challenge and when asked about a little city to city rivalry LaRosiliere said: “When have one question we asked when anybody competes against Plano, and the question is – who’s coming in 2nd?”
