Female Suspect in Shooting at YouTube’s Headquarters in California Dead

SAN BRUNO  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police in San Bruno, California said the suspect in a shooting at YouTube headquarters Tuesday afternoon is a woman and she is dead.

Investigators said she may have died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

One hospital in Northern California said that it is treating four patients that were injured in the shooting.

Television images showed people walking in a line with their hands in the air for police to inspect them as they evacuated the building.

Earlier this afternoon, The San Bruno Police Department tweeted that they are responding to an active shooter situation and urged residents to stay away from Cherry Avenue and Bay Hill Drive.

Employees from inside the facility were tweeting about the incident as the shots continued. Vadim Lavrusik, whose Twitter profile states he is a YouTube employee, said after a brief period of being barricadeed in a room, he was evacuated and got out safe.

San Bruno is about 13 miles south of San Francisco. The identity of the suspect has not been released.
