1 Suspect Connected to Deadly Plano Shooting and Arlington Double Homicide

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Update: Arlington Police now say the suspect arrested by Plano police is their main suspect in the double homicide case. Arlington Lieutenant Christopher Cooks: “Anytime there’s a homicide, obviously our crime scene unit comes out. We were able to determined just based upon the evidence at the scene; also looking at the victims phone behaviors and who they had been in contact with; that’s how we were able to develop some suspect information.” Cook added at that at this time, Police believe that this is their only suspect.

Original Post: Plano – Plano Police have arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting Thursday morning at the Cross Creek Apartments on Alma Drive.

18 Year old Franklin Lee Barnes was arrested in McKinney Thursday evening and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say additional charges may be filed in the case.

Arlington Homicide investigators went to Plano to see if there was any connection between the Plano shooting and one in Arlington Thursday where two men were found shot to death in a parked car. Police say it’s too early to tell if the two are connected in any way.
