ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – Arlington police are searching for clues to solve the murder of two men whose bodies were found in a parked car at the Residence on Lamar Apartments Thursday morning.
The department’s Lieutenant Chris Cook said a bystander found the bodies.
“The windows were rolled up. He at first thought they were sleeping and he thought maybe something bad had happened to them. So, we get on scene we do find to men deceased at the scene from apparent gun shot wounds,” he said.
Although the men were shot to death, Cook said the fact that no bullet holes were found in the car and there were no calls from the complex complaining about gun fire adds a layer of mystery for investigators.
“Detectives still have a lot of work to do as far as tracking down a timeline of when it occurred…processing the evidence and the scene. At this point, we haven’t been able to rule out if these individuals were engaged in any high-risk activity,” he said.
Investigators are also not sure how long the men’s bodies had been sitting in the car.
Cook said detectives don’t think the murders are random.
“We think they were likely targeted just because of the condition we found them in and the position we found them in,” he said.
The bodies have been handed over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will release the identities of the victims once the families have been notified.
Police are asking residents who may have heard anything suspicious to contact the department.
