Man Charged in Death of Elderly Dallas Woman Allegedly Used Alias

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man charged with capital murder in the suffocation death of an elderly Dallas woman used an alias while working as a health care professional, according to Plano Police.

Billy Chemirmir was arrested by police last week after he allegedly attempted to suffocate a 93-year-old Plano woman and stole her jewelry.

Plano Police Officer David Tilley said investigators believe Chemirmir also goes by the name Benjamin Koitaba.

“The more we researched that the more we found out that this was in fact a name that he was using when he was providing home healthcare services,” he said

The Plano victim survived but the case eventually lead investigators to a Dallas address where 81-year-old Lu “Kim” Harris was found dead.

Authorities believe that Chemirmir could be involved in numerous cases across North Texas.

The Dallas Police Department is reviewing 750 unattended death cases to see if there is a link. They also said he may have impersonated maintenance workers at a Dallas retirement home.

Police from Frisco, Dallas, Richardson and Plano have set up a tip line for anyone who has information about Chemirmir.

Tilley said several decent tips have come in.

“We haven’t had as many as we anticipated but have had several that have come through seem to be legitimate good tips,” he said.

Anyone who has any information about Chemirmir is asked to call 972-971-5785.
