DALLAS, TX (WBAP/KLIF News) – A new study shows that the number of homeless people in Dallas and Collin County continues to rise.
The Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance says the homeless population has gone up 9% since this time last year. CEO Cindy Crain says 82% of the homeless are in the city of Dallas proper and adds the balance are in the suburbs.
She says the two biggest contributing factors are a growing number of full shelters…and an increasing gap between income and cost of living.
