Austin Police Have Responded to Over One-Thousand Suspicious Package Calls This Month

(WBAP/KLIF) –  Concern across the State of Texas grew Tuesday after an explosion at a Fed-Ex facility north of San Antonio. The bombing was the fifth in Central Texas since March 2. Two people have died and four others have been hurt.

Austin Police believe each of the bombings are related to one another and are asked residents to remain vigilant. According to the Austin Police Department, Officers responded to 420 suspicious package calls between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday bringing the total number to more than 1,200 calls since approximately 8 a.m. on March 12.

Police responded early Tuesday morning to a suspicious package call at a Fed-Ex facility in Austin. That investigation is ongoing. Anyone who notices any suspicious objects is asked to call Police.
