NCAA Tournament Games in Dallas Will Have Multi-Million Dollar Impact in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Tens of thousands of basketball fans will spend the rest of the week in Dallas to enjoy the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

It’s expected to bring millions of dollars into the local economy.

The city is expected to benefit economically but Milton Grays with the Dallas Regional Chamber said the impact goes beyond the financials.

“It really gives us a chance to showcase our city and our region to people from around the country and around the world,” he said.

Grays said even people watching from home will learn more about Dallas during the next few days.

Tyler McCew lives in Argyle and said he’s noticed more people starting to filter into the area for the weekend.

“We’ve seen a lot of traffic coming through. The area is just busy with people coming into town,” he said.

This Texas Tech fan brought his family from Lubbock and said he’s excited to see what the city has to offer.

“So we hit up the aquarium…obviously, some good eating spots. We’re just trying to keep the kids entertained and busy and looking forward to a good basketball game,” he said.

The American Airlines Center will host the games through Sunday.
