FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) — For the first time in 20 years the TCU men’s basketball team has earned a trip to the Big Dance.

The Horned Frogs are seeded sixth in the Midwest Region with an overall record of 21 wins and 11 losses. They’ll play the winner of Wednesday evening’s game between 11 seeds Arizona State and Syracuse. That game will be played Friday in Detroit with an estimated tipoff time of 8:40 p.m.

TCU’s last appearance in March Madness resulted in a first round loss to Florida State in Oklahoma City in 1998. The last Frogs victory in the Tournament came 31 years ago when the Fort Worth squad was ranked fourth and beat number 13 Marshall in Charlotte, N.C.

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon is making his 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in the 15th year of his career. He has taken his teams to the postseason each of those years.

Friday night’s game can be heard on 570AM KLIF in Dallas. Tipoff approximately 8:40 p.m.
