DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – As thousands of music lovers head to Austin for SXSW, there is one group of LGBT Activists that will be there too, but not for the music.
Instead, the group “No gay, No way” wants to know why there are nine anti-LGBT finalists for Amazon’s new headquarters. The group’s campaign manager Conor Gaughan is targeting Amazon speaking engagements at the music festival and asking Amazon to select a market where all employees and customers are protected from discrimination.
Gaughan said he hopes Amazon will make a decision that sends a message to state lawmakers that “if you don’t have protections for all of your citizens, then you’re not going to be able to attract the best, brightest companies and innovators to your state.”
The group plans to have a presence at hotels and venues in the Austin area, and a plane flying overhead with a “No gay No way” banner.
