(WBAP/KLIF) – Headquartered in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, Dick’s Sporting Goods — one of the nation’s largest sporting goods retailers — announced this morning that it will no longer sell assault style rifles.
Dick’s is ending sales of the controversial firearm, effectively immediately; additionally, it will no longer sell high-capacity magazines and will cease the sale of any type of gun to anyone younger than age 21.
The announcement comes two weeks after a Florida teen allegedly used an AR-15 to gun down 17 people at a high school.
Dick’s CEO Edward Stack says the new policy is a direct response to the mass shooting.
