DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings joined Rick Roberts on KLIF sister-station WBAP Friday afternoon to explain his comments earlier this week about the National Rifle Association.
Rawlings had said that while he would not be heartbroken if the NRA moved its convention out of Dallas, the contract is signed and there is no reason to force them to make other plans.
Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway had called for the NRA to move the May convention at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in the aftermath of the Florida school shooting that left 17 people dead. The NRA said they are keeping the convention in place.
