Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway has received threats after the comments he made earlier this week about wishing the NRA hold their scheduled convention somewhere other than Dallas.
Caraway said hosting the conference here would be ignorant to the continued gun violence — the NRA says they won’t allow a politician to determine where they host their meetings.
The Dallas Morning News reports Caraway has not forwarded the threats to Dallas Police, but acknowledged the threats were tougher and more vulgar than ones he received when the Robert E. Lee statue came down at Oak Lawn Park.
