Former Tech Execs Form Non-Profit

DALLAS (KLIF/WBAP) — A group of former Facebook and Google executives have formed a non-profit group aimed at reigning in some of the power in the industry they helped create.

They’re calling themselves “The Center for Humane Technology” and their goal is to give parents and teachers more information when it comes to the affect of social media and technology on young minds.

They’re creating an ad campaign much like anti-tobacco ads that will air in 55,000 public school districts across the country.

The group also plans to throw support behind any bill aimed at curbing the power of tech industry giants.

Producer Robyn Geske has been looking into the group. She stopped by the Morning Drive with more.
