Melissa, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – An intersection involving two Collin County highways is raising public concern.
The Texas Department of Transportation has been widening 121 in Melissa near highway 5, forcing southbound traffic into a two-way road. In the last two weeks, there have been eight wrecks and one death at this exact spot. TxDot says they’ve lowered the speed limit and put up signs to ensure people are safe…and that they’ll work with the Melissa police department to see if more action is needed.
Police in Melissa have called the situation critical at this point.
