Palmer (WBAP/KLIF) – A police officer in the town of Palmer, south of Dallas, was shot Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop. While checking the occupants of the car he had pulled over on I-45, the officer determined one of them was wanted for sexual assault in Collin County. That suspect resisted, and during a struggle tried to grab the officer’s pistol. It fired while they were struggling over it, and the officer was grazed by a bullet. He is OK. Passers-by who saw what was happening, intervened, and the suspect was arrested. He now faces more charges than just the original sexual assault.
