Flu Death Toll Continues to Rise in North Texas

NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The death count for the 2017-2018 flu season continues to rise in North Texas.

More than 60 flu deaths have been reported between Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant Counties.

Dallas County reported an additional five deaths and Denton County reported two more Friday afternoon.

The Denton County Health Department said the flu is still very active across the United States.

“We still want people to be very aware that we’re still in the middle of high-peak flu season. To definitely consider staying home if they’re sick and to get the flu shot if they haven’t already,” he said.

The Centers for Disease Control said this flu season is the worst its seen in 15 years.
