Deaf Child Hears First-Time Sounds with Harlem Globetrotters and Dallas Mavericks Drumline

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A 4-year-old who was born deaf received a special surprise from a world-famous basketball team that brought tears to his parents eyes.

Jace Lee, who recently underwent surgery for a cochlear implant, got his own personal show as Harlem Globetrotters star Handles Franklin perform tricks to the sounds of the Dallas Mavericks Drumline Monday afternoon.

Jace heard music for the first time last week and was drawn to the Mavs drumline at a recent game.

When the Mavs and Globetrotters heard about his condition, they decided to put on a once in a lifetime show for a very special boy.

The Globetrotters also gave Jace and his family court-side seats to see them perform at the American Airlines Center this Saturday.
