DALLAS (KLIF/WBAP) — A new survey shows kids are changing the types of professions they aim for, and they’re changing where they’re getting those goal professions.
New York Life and Fatherly asked more than 1000 kids under the age of 12 what they wanted to be when they “grow up.”
The top 5 responses:
-doctor
-veterinarian
-engineer
-police officer
-teacher
Researchers noticed a few unusual things about the responses, though. Girls were more likely to choose careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM fields. Boys were more likely to say they wanted jobs in civil service, like police officer or firefighter.
Producer Robyn Geske has a little “dreamer” of her own. She stopped by the studio to talk about the entire “Imagination Report.”
