FT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) — For ten years, officials in Tarrant and Parker counties count the homeless population.
Each year, during the last ten days of January, volunteers canvas both counties to make sure each person is counted.
The census is organized by the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition.
They use the data to get federal grants for housing and other services.
The count also helps officials see how well programs the TCHC has put in place to end homelessness are working.
