Teenager Charged in Bedford Girl’s Murder to be Tried as an Adult

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The teenager accused of killing a Bedford girl will be tried as an adult.

16-year-old Jordin Roache is charged with 14-year-old Kaytlynn Cargill’s murder. Her body was found last summer in an Arlington landfill. A Tarrant County Judge ruled Wednesday to transfer Roache’s case to adult court. The Judge said testimony demonstrated that Roache was sophisticated enough in his alleged decision making to be tried as an adult. Roache’s Attorney, Frank Adler, said his client was upset by the ruling.

“He was extremely dissapointed,” said Adler.” Just extremely dissapointed.”

Police believe Cargill was killed when a drug deal went bad. Roache will be transferred to an adult jail when he turns 17 in March. Adler said he will appeal the Judge’s decision. A trial date has not been set in the murder case.
