Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A outdoor burning ban is now in effect for Tarrant County. The County Commissioner’s Court approved the 90 day ban Tuesday. The burn ban was put into effect because the Texas Forest Service has determined unincorporated areas of the country are under drought conditions. If you violate the burn ban, it’s a Class C misdemeanor and you could face a fine of up to $500 dollars. The county is also recommending homeowners remove combustible materials from around their homes and keep water hoses nearby in case a fire should break out.
