Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected the appeal of Eric Williams, a former Justice of the Peace who’s now on death row for the 2013 murders of the Kaufman County District Attorney, his wife, and a prosecutor.
Williams appealed his conviction and death sentence on the grounds there is no evidence that he would be a future threat to society.
The appeals court rejected his claim that he only wanted to take revenge against “a few politicians who had ruined his life,” so he would never hurt anyone else. Testimony at Williams’ trial showed he was pursuing plans to kill two judges, and his own wife when he was arrested.
Kim Williams pleaded guilty to helping her husband commit his murders, and is now serving a 40 year prison sentence. Eric Williams’ conviction and death sentence stand.
