Fort Worth Man Assaulted After Giving Panhandler Money

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) — A man who was approached by a panhandler at a Fort Worth gas station gave him $5, and as a token of appreciation, was beat up.

The man was 77 years old and had just withdrawn money from the ATM at a gas station of Berry Street east of I-35W, when the panhandler asked him for $5. He agreed, so as a result, the begger offered him a ride home.

When they got in the car, another stranger was inside. They drove off and ended up assaulting the 77 year-old, who was found injured at another location.

He was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown. The attackers are still on the loose.
