Texans Star Announces Plans to Distribute Hurricane Relief Funds

(WBAP/KLIF) – Houston Texans star J.J. Watt is donating more than $31 million raised for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Watt set an initial goal of $200,000 and well surpassed his goal with donations from across the world. He took to Twitter this week to announce his plans to donate the money.

“What we’re going to do is rebuild homes,” said Watt. “We’re going to restore child care centers and after school programs. We’re going to provide food for those who need food. And we’re going to provide professional medical services, both physical and mental health, for those affected by the hurricane.”

The money will be distributed to Americares, Feeding America, SBP, and Save the Children. It will be allocated over the next 18-24 months.
