Deep Ellum Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Police Department said an anonymous tip led to the arrest of the suspect in two sexual assaults in Deep Ellum.

36-year-old Jerly Patrick Graves Bailey Jr. was taken into custody less than a week after police released surveillance video of the suspect and his alleged victim to the public in hopes of finding him.

Investigators said the assaults took place within an hour of one another in the early morning hours of October 21st.

One victim told police she met Bailey Jr. at a bar earlier that evening and jumped out of his car on Mockingbird Lane near North Central Expressway to escape the assault.

An hour after the first attack, the second victim told police Bailey approached her near Elm and Harwood.

She was on the phone with her boyfriend during the assault. He managed to run to her location and fight off her attacker.

Police said Bailey had outstanding traffic warrants as well as a warrant for his arrest on a Forgery charge and was taken into custody for those warrants.

Bailey is facing two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Forgery and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He has previously been convicted of Assault of a Public Servant, Assault Causes Bodily Injury, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Aggravated Robbery.
