WHITEWRIGHT (WBAP/KLIF News) — Drivers in Grayson County are on the lookout for people who are reportedly throwing rocks at their windshields.
Philip Guthrie is one of many whose windshield was hit Tuesday night just before 8:00 along FM-121 between Whitewright and Van Alstyne. He said at first, he thought a rock was shot up from underneath a truck’s tire on the other side of the road.
“It sounded like a gun went off in the truck,” Guthrie said. “It was right in front of my face. The windshield just cracked and spider-webbed.”
It wasn’t until he got home from work and saw a handful of other posting on social media that they saw rocks being thrown at their windshields from a pick-up truck that matched the description of the one he saw.
Guthrie wasn’t hurt, but one person on Facebook said their son’s eyes were hit by broken glass. Police have not made any arrests.
Guthrie said he’s offering a reward for anyone who can identify those who are throwing the rocks.
“I don’t know what possesses somebody to do something like this. It’s not normal. Something’s wrong,” Guthrie said. “I hope this gets so much attention that they’re so ashamed of themselves.”
