DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — The City of Dallas is hosting a job fair Thursday afternoon to help people gain employment during the holiday season.
The fair will take place from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sheraton Dallas and will feature companies like Amazon, UPS, Fed Ex, and Wal-Mart.
“You can drive UPS packages in your own car and make $18.75 and hour and 53 center per mile,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, adding that some jobs pay in the range of $20 an hour. “You can work as a driver helper or work in the package logistics centers of these companies and make living wages.”
Jenkins said companies will be hiring season, part-time, and full-time employees on the spot, with some jobs starting as early as next Monday.
“With Christmas a little more than 60 days away, these companies are desperate for workers to come in and help them move packages as more and more people shop online,” Jenkins said. “That’s great news for you and your family.”
