Study Says Austin Would Be Best Location for Amazon’s HQ2; DFW Not in Top Ten

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — According to a national analysis, one Texas city would be Amazon’s best choice for its next headquarters.

Moody’s Analytics says the Austin-Round Rock metro should be the top of Amazon’s list because it ranks favorably with many of the qualities they prefer for their new home. Some of those qualities include business environment, human capitol, transportation, geography, and quality of life.

Dallas-Fort Worth did not crack their top ten, though cities like Portland, Salt Lake City, and Vancouver did.

Leaders from both Dallas and Fort Worth submitted a joint bid last week for the entire Metroplex. About a dozen North Texas cities expressed interest and put together pitches of their own before the larger bid was sent in.

Amazon is expected to make a decision on where to build its second headquarters in early 2018.
