ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – North Texans are reacting to Donald Trump Junior’s visit to the Metroplex.
The President’s son was the keynote speaker at the University of North Texas’ Kuehne Speaker Series at AT&T stadium on Tuesday. Over 650 people attended the event.
Fred Moses was at the speech and said Trump Jr. touched on several different topics during his speech.
“His inauguration speech and about the differences his father is making in terms of his communication and how he’s representing the country,” he said.
The subject of free speech was also a common theme.
“The message was that we should be able to speak freely about our values and we should be receptive to all points of views not just one point of view,” said Moses.
Several UNT professors had spoken out recently against Trump Jr.’s visit.
Almost 100 professors issued an open letter to the university protesting his visit, saying his politics and the fact that the he is under a federal investigation didn’t coincide with what the university stands for.
An anti-Trump protest is scheduled at the UNT campus in Denton for people who opposed Trump Jr.’s visit.
President Trump will be at a private campaign fundraiser tomorrow night in Dallas. An anti-Trump group is planning a protest outside Dallas City Hall coinciding with his visit.
